My latest UK weather tracker shows that October was a warm and cloudy month with normal levels of rainfall.
As always, the meteorological year starts in December which is why October appears as the 11th data point in the charts below. More information on the layout of the charts can be found in this post.
Temperature-wise, October was the 8th warmest on record whilst sunshine-hours was the 6th lowest on record. Together this makes the month a warm but dull month.
The month was also noticeable for the tail-end of a hurricane coming through north west Britain. Unfortunately the met office does not give data on average wind speed so we have no idea if the autumnal storms were different from the usual.
